It depends on what time you go to bed and what time it is after your workout. If I finished my workout at 7pm I would have some oatmeal-to replace my glycogen levels but will not spike insulin do to low glycemic levels and some low fat protein source. Do not eat alot of carbs b4 bedtime or you increase your chances of converting and storeing as fat. Just though I would offer some advice. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Some people have a lot of problems with insulin inhibiting fat loss. I find that when I trained at night, spiking insulin with a post-workout simple carb/whey protein drink in no way ever hurt my progress. As long as my post-workout meal (eaten one hour after taking the drink) contained only veggies and protein/fat, I never gained fat doing this, no matter how late at night. I'm afraid you have to experiment for yourself to determine if a late night insulin spike makes you fat, but provided it's immediately post-workout, it shouldn't. IP: Logged |
