I asked this question on a different board, but lost track of it so I figured I'd ask here...
After hockey (any contact sports really, but I play hockey the most) I crave red meat like nothing I've craved before. If we win or I have a good game, leveling people or scoring points, I crave it more than if we lose. The weird part about my cravings is that I can eat anything and in any amounts and not be satisfied until I have red meat in me? Why does that happen? Does this happen to anyone else?

Maybe your body is trying to tell you that you are missing something in your diet. Myself, I have to force that stuff down. I use to eat red meat every day, but not now. I haven't ate red meat for about 3 years until I came to this chat board and found out that red meat has an affect on testosterone count. I am going to try and eat it twice a week now.

My guess is you are in need of more protein or fats since you are craving red meats after intense physical activity. Or maybe it's iron... You need to take a close look at your diet and see what is lacking and whatever it is....red meat has a lot of it and your body "knows." Your body does tell you when you are short on something.

I'm not missing anything in my diet. Looked it over and havn't seen anything missing. Anybody else ever get those types of cravings?

It doesn't necessarily mean you are doing something "wrong" in your diet. That was just a possibility, since I don't know anything about your physique or diet. If you are following a strict, comprehensive diet, then it could simply be that you are leaner than what your body is comfortable with, so you are going to crave fats. When I am in carb depletion, I start craving all kinds of things that I never would eat. They all have one thing in common - they have fats. My body is too lean - as we all know contest condition is not "healthy" and your body lets you know in every way possible mainly through what we call cravings. It's a survival mechanism. It's the same concept as laying on the beach in the hot sun and your body starts to crave water. Your body has to be a little smarter than you or else we wouldn't survive. Sometimes with BB, it is not so clear, so you have to interpret the meaning of the craving. Sorry to respond again as it seemed you dismissed my first response, but I'll be surprised if someone else has some other idea about what cravings mean. Just trying to get you to reconsider your thinking, that's all.

Iron chick. Your idea is good, thanx.
Its that I only get it after extremely physical demanding activites, like football and hockey where I'm hitting people. I concluded that I only get them after those games b/c I recently had a game that I hit alot in and a fight on the ice broke out, makin me wanna hit more. When it was over the cravings started. That was my first game in about a month and I haven't had the craving for red meat like that since the last game.
