Just wondering here. When I eat breakfast and choose to have eggs, I always have at least 10 to 12 egg whites. Now I have noticed some other posts where people were talking about eating eggs and they were saying they only eat 2. I do not understand this. What can you possibly get out of eating 2 eggs? Am I going over board by eating that many? IP: Logged |

Depends on your body weight. You should eat about 1g protein/lb body weight divided across your meals. Each egg white is 3.5g protein, each whole egg is 6.5g. Do the math and figure out if you are eating too much. Either way, it's a good idea to substitute some of your whites for 1 or 2 whole eggs. Besides geting a testosterone boost, a slower absorbing meal (lower GI) and a more full filling in your stomach, the fatty egg yolks will also yield a superior amino acid profile. IP: Logged |

I know that you are to eat 1 to 1.5g of protein per pound of body weight, but I was also told that your first meal should be the biggest. This is why I eat 10 to 12 egg whites in the morning. Is this true? IP: Logged |

Just to make a small correction it's 1 to 1.5 gms per LEAN body wieght so even if you 225 you are probably only 195 LEAN bodywieght. IP: Logged |

Some people go by body weight, others by LBM (lean body mass). I also think LBM makes more sense - your pounds of lard don't need to be fed! But anyway, yes, it's a good idea to make your first meal bigger than the rest. Your metabolism's higher, you're probably hungrier and you're low on nutrients when you wake up (when I wake up the fridge screams in terror). IP: Logged |
