If I have a weakness, this is it. I love cereal. Is eating Wheaties that bad for you? There are only 4g sugars in it. Carbs are 24g. Would the glycemic index be high on this? IP: Logged |

I eat special k every day as part of my breakfast so this kinda pertains to me too. IP: Logged |

I sometimes eat ceral in the mornings as well. For me, mornings are the best time to eat more of my carbs. I then have the rest of the day to burn them off. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Cereal like wheaties or special k are high on the glycemic index. That doesn't mean you have to avoid them, just combine them with some kind of fat, protein and fiber to bring the index down. IP: Logged |

Vlaovic, how do you know about the glycemic index on this? I did not know you could eat something high in the glycemic index if you ate something else high in protein. I didn't think doing that could stabilize your insuline level. Where did you hear that? IP: Logged |

vlaovic is correct. Do a search and look the information up for yourself. It isn't hard to find. IP: Logged |

I love cereal too, however processed foods are not ideal so i would say just don't eat it everday, have oatmeal instead sometimes ------------------ IP: Logged |

Just ask any diabetic Hotblood. The glycemic index only applies to a food eaten by itself in the absence of any other food. But you're still better off avoiding processed foods like Decaman said. IP: Logged |
