Cheat once a week if dieting. Eat more than usual of your regular week's food, or have one meal of whatever you want in addition to your regular meals - just keep it within reason. That means have a whopper or if you must, have 2, but don't eat a whole damn pizza! (If you're like me, don't even look at pizza or you will eat about two or three large ones in the blink of an eye!) | ||

You should eat cheat food on a cheat day. The whole notion of a cheat day is that you don't actually have to plan what to eat. You just eat whatever you feel like eating, as long as you don't overdo it. I usualy have a cheat day every 10 days. | ||

When I diet I usually cheat about every two weeks. I now make sure I dont go to a buffet for a cheat meal, if I do I end up eating myself sick, I just cant stop. I guess its like saying I am just going to halfway have sex, when Im about half done I'll stop...Yeah right! My suggestion is to go somewhere and order a large portion, that way you have a set limit, and you can enjoy what you have in front of you without thinking about what you are going to get on your next plate. | ||

On my cheat day, I try to eat something that will benefit my body, even though it is a cheat day. For example for dinner I would have a huge steak. It is high in fat, but looking at the positive side, its also very high in protien. As opposed to eating chocolate or ice cream on a cheat day which has no nutritional value whatsoever. A good hamburger, cheesesteak, or chicken steak is also a good idea. ------------------ | ||

On my cheat day I eat food that is high-carb and low fat. Often pasta, sometimes lowfat icecream, sometimes both in the same meal. Since on a long term diet I mainly crave carbs anyway, this is a fun cheat. But more importantly, by cheating this way, I take advantage of the thyroid stimulating properties of a high carb meal. Helps negate some of the metabolic shutdown that can occur with prolonged low carb dieting. | ||

Cheating is a horrible idea for some people, like me. 1: Once I start, I just can't stop. And 2: When my body isn't used to the types of food I want to eat or the quantities I want to eat, I end up making myself sick and feeling like (and producing tons of) total shit the next day. ------------------ | ||
