I am askining for my work out partner, she is lets say over 45-lost aver 50lbs from hard work and have kept it off. Now she want her skin to tighten back up but dont know how to start. The weight has been of for several years but the skin still hasnt gone back to how she imagined it would be. We need advice on what to do to rectify this problem. ------------------ [This message has been edited by bigirl (edited July 14, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I have the same problem, about two years ago I lost 50lbs and my skin was loose. My skin has tightened up but it is still loose, I can pull it from my muscle. A friend of mine had the same thing happen to him, all I can say is it might never tighten...but who knows maybe in time. Digga IP: Logged |

I don't think it ever tightens either. I lost 80lbs about 5 years ago, and I still don't like the way I look from the loose skin and stretch marks. Maybe I'll get a tuck. IP: Logged |

Is there an age at which the skin might tighten, or does that factor have any bearing? IP: Logged |

Some nice solid muscle should tighten it up. There is no other way except surgery. [This message has been edited by Latimer (edited July 31, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I believe that visiting the sauana room once in a while could tighten up some loose skin. IP: Logged |

Try using the antioxidant Pycnogenal. Rub it on the areas of loose skin when getting out of a shower. Dan Duchaine was a big believer in this cream/antioxidant. I have never tried it, and I have never met anyone who has, but it may be worth giving it a try. Also, it is fairly expensive for the amount you get. If you try it, let me know how it works. I don't think it will work miracles, but it may do some good, who knows. IP: Logged |

Try putting on Preparation-H before tanning, it helped with my pre-contest plan this time! ------------------ IP: Logged |
