Help! I feel like I'm stuck & not seeing the results I want. I'm currently 5'7" 140lbs. & 10%bf. I want to be to 130lbs and 8%bf (lean and hard). I weight train 4-5x/week & do 30-40min cardio each time. I don't drink alcohol or caffine & eat 5-6x/day: stacker or Ripped Fuel 1/2hr before meal B- 1whole egg, 1 egg white w/2 slices wheat bread or bagel (no jelly/butter) and 1/4c plain oatmeal Snack- Pure Protein bar or piece of fruit stacker 1/2hr before meal L- 6oz can tuna (plain) with bagel or tuna/turkey/chix salad or chix burrito (no cheese, sour cream, guacamole) Snack- Pure Protein bar or fruit (opposite of am snack) stacker before workout Post Workout 2 scoops protein w/water D- chic breast/steak/6oz tuna with steamed veggies or salad I drink about 6 liters of water/day, I don't use 'extras'(like salt, mayo, butter, cheese) I don't drink dairy or eat 'junk' food and I don't have carbs after 5:00pm. I do this for 6 days on and then have a cheat day which isn't that sinful (consists of some kind of dairy, pasta, potato or pancakes). but I still have fat on me!! My upper body is starting to come out and my abs are looking good but my lower stomach(starting below my belly button) still sticks out a bit - its not flat like every girls in the muscle mags! What's up?? What else should/could I be doing to get the results I want? Thanks All! IP: Logged |

Do you have any idea of the ratios of fat:carbs:protein your eating, or total calories? It's hard to tell from the meals you listed. Also, 8%bf is very low for a female, so it may take a LOT of extra effort to lose that last 2-3%bf. As for the lower abs, is there any fat there when you pinch a skinfold? You will find that most women that appear in the mags will have manipulated their water and carbs for a week before the shoot, or at the very least stopped eating fibrous foods like veggies for a few days. This is beacuase we have internal organs down there that guys don't have. So anything you eat that sits in you stomach and is bulky will 'bulge out'. IP: Logged |

hi Superstar i had once the same problem. I was at 10%BF following similar diet and I couldn't lose 1-2% BF more. Then, after you got to "suffer" like that for 6 days, you should have a crazy cheat day, have some really bad foods like pizza, icecream etc...this will fool your body...and speed up your metabolism.
then...the last step would be considering taking clen... IP: Logged |

Thanks for the replies! A snapshot of a weeks intake is 1250-1300 calories, 20-30g fat, 130-200g carbs and 130-160protein. I've been eating like this for months, its not really a diet, just a habit. I used to eat more carbs at night but now I no longer have them after 5:00pm. I have been trying to get my whey protein intake up so I can hit the 1gram/lb of body weight. I've read the article on the 1 Meal a Day - anyone had luck on this? I've always had a slower metabolism and I know eating 5-6x/day has really raised it and helped me a lot - if I did this plan would I drop my metabolism? As for the clen, is there a recommended cycle? I have access to a variety of goodies but wouldn't know where to begin & what dosages are going to help me become a superstar! IP: Logged |

Superstar, you can try cutting carbs to about 90-100g per day, and just eat them before and after working out, while jacking up protein to between 170-200g and keeping fat around 30g. This may force your body to tap into what little fat you have left for fuel, instead of burining all those carbs. The protein will also keep your metabolism up and preserve muscle. By the way, congradulations on your already teriffic fat %! I know it's a lot harder for women to achieve such low numbers than it is for us men, so my hat goes off to you. Your battle with genetics is even more uphill then ours when it comes to getting that shredded. IP: Logged |

I agree with what the folks above said. You're gonna have to cut your carbs (but raise your protein to compensate). And throw in some high-carb cheat days to keep the metabolism from stalling. It's really not going to be easy! So do you have any 'pinchable' fat on your lower abs? IP: Logged |

Thanks vlaovic & MrMuscle for the suggestion of cutting carbs. I think for a change in diet I'm going to do the one meal a day plan and just have the carbs in the morning and after workout. I'm pretty proud of my accomplishments so far but I have a long way to go! As for my abs, when I pinch my lower I can get a fold of skin but my boyfriend swears there is no fat in there and its just water and skin. It doesn't feel like fat its just not flat and cut up like my upper abs. I workout my lower abs just as much as I do the upper & sides so I don't know what else could be the problem. IP: Logged |

The way you tell if a skinfold is fat or just skin/water is if it feels lumpy when you pinch it and roll your fingers through it. If it's smooth, it's just skin - if it's lumpy, there's adipose (fat) tissue there. IP: Logged |

Hmmmm. Sounds like classic vegetable pouch! As I alluded to before, many women cannot get that bulge to disappear without cutting out ALL fiber for 4-5 days, and maybe taking charcoal tablets. All the dieting in the world will not get rid of it if it's not fat. And for a female at 10% it is unlikely to be fat. The best way to find out is to do a carb-depletion diet for around 4 days, in other words don't eat any carbs, just fat and protein (and tons of water). IP: Logged |
