![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've been doing a CKD for the past week (just coming off my first carb-up). It's a cross between Anabolic Diet (AD) and Body Opus (BO), in that (like AD) I don't watch calories during the week, just maintain a 70% fat 30% protein ratio. My carb-ups are a little more structured than AD (more like BO), but I don't do a depletion workout, training heavy before the carb load instead (I'd rather use the calories for muscle repair than looking pumped on the weekends). Anyway, (sorry about my rambling!) I'm wondering if taking 2g L-glutamine (2g is enough to promote GH release, which is all I'm after) 30 min. before workout, immediately after and before going to sleep will interfere with ketosis. If anyone has any thoughts, or at least a clue as to what the hell I'm talking about, I'd appreciate any advice!! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2 grams is not enough to stuff up your ketosis. So go for it. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm with MS on this one too. At 6 grams per day, it should not interfere with your ketosis descent/readings. However, I do know many people who cannot achieve ketone reading when using glutamine, but they are taking at least twice as much as your 6 grams. This is something you will have to experiment with on your own. If it doesn't effect anything, then you will be fine. But, if you still have troubles, then I would suggest you only take it during the carb-up, which is what most of my friends are doing. I think the best times for administration would be before and after your workouts. On the days you do not train, maybe just spread the doses throughout the day, or right before and after your cardio sessions. Also, if you are taking a glucose agent like ALA, then it may allow for greater amounts to be taken in, but this is up for grabs between each individual. It is hard to give an accurate answer for questions pertaining to keto diets because a lot of peoples' bodies react differently. Most of what you learn is through your own trial and error, so on this note, give it a try and see what happens. IP: Logged |
