haha, without lifting can I still gain weight?? hahhaa

Why wouldnt you be able to gain weight if your not lifting? But if your talking about what I think your talking about, about being able to gain MUSCLE while your not lifting.. just look at MrMuscles post..

But personally I would NOT reccommend bulking while your not lifting? Why?

If You bulk while your not lifting the only thing your going to gain is fat
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If You Bulk while your lifting most of the calories you will eat will turn to muscle
Any other opinions?
I'M JUST SAYING, I'D RATHER BE A LITTLE PORTLY WITH SOME BULK,THEN SKINNY LOOKING.I KNOW IT WOULDN'T BE MUSCLE.I JUST WANNA GAIN WEIGHT UNTIL I'M READY TO LIFT SERIOUSLY AGAIN.I'D RATHER START LIFTING AT 200-210LBS THEN 190LBS,SO WHEN I START LIFTING I CAN GET UP TO 210-220 BUT MORE MUSCLE.GET IT?
yea, but I still dont think thats a good idea, because you NEED a low body fat percentage to bulk or your going to have one hell of a time getting the fat off of ya.. its a lot better to bulk when you have a low body fat then a high body fat.. get it?
what do you mean you're not menatlly prepared to work out? How much mental preparation does it take to lift a piece of metal up and down? Overeating can be anabolic to a point, like Bill Phillip's ABCDE diet, but working out will make sure most of it is muscle. Besides, you can bulk up faster when you're doing bench presses, squats, etc. Overeating makes you bulky in your ass and stomach.
If you're not lifting, eat to maintain or else you will get fat.
That sounds kind of dumb, no offense. Ideally, you want to have as low a body fat percentage as possible before you start a massive muscle gaining cycle. Keep off the pounds for now, and then eat like a pig once you start lifting again. Most people would rather be and see a person who is a little skinny as opposed to a blubber butt whose too lazy to hit the weights. Trust me, fat doesn't melt off overnight.
I disagree. If you are really thin and lean, you will feel and look better if you put on a little bit of weight. I had friends in college do the same, and it did help them out. But I do wonder why you feel you are not mentally prepared for weightlifting.
What is the range of bodyfat that one should engage in a bulking cycle? Is 19% too high? I started a bulking cycle at 19%, since I was not able to do cardio for a month due to a broken foot. I figured, why not try to pack on muscle, along with the unavoidable fat gains, and then just bust my ass when my cast comes off. I was reading Bill Phillips ABCDE, and based my bulking cycle on his model... and all it says about weight restriction for a bulking cycle is that one should not be obese, and start his program.. any ideas or advice? Thanks, Joe
Kaisersosay I know from experience that wanting to put on bulk size does'nt always work when just eating. You just want to look bigger (not skinny) well doing this bulking cycle may put fat around your waist and no where else. Then what? You will be skinny with a spair tire, does'nt look good. My advice, get in the gym and work, the size you want will come on as muscle and look good.
Second that Mark. I know from experience, since I gain fat only in my belly. Looks absolutely disgusting, not even like a spare tire. More like a baby. Hit the gym, then eat your heart out.
