After not being able to lift for almost a month, I am starting to hit the hardware again. I weigh 251 lbs at 6' 3", with 18% bodyfat. My weight was 320 at nearly 35% bodyfat before I started lifting, and I was VERY pleased with my results. My question is: Should I concentrate on bulking, cutting or a hybrid of both programs? It makes sense to me that I should concentrate on shedding bodyfat first, then worry about bulking up. From the research I have read, the body is not very receptive to BOTH cutting and bulking during the same period. You have to choose one or the other, to get the maximum amount of muscle gains. I also play basketball about 2 hours a day, 4 days a week. I know this will hinder muscle gains, if I don't consume extra calories to make up this deficit. I am aiming for 8-10% bodyfat, and I am fully dedicated to achieve this goal. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe ------------------ "You think that is PAIN?!?! I would suggest that you take your bf level way down ( below 8% ) then bulk up to the weight and bf% that you are after. This way you can be lean and have more muscle. IP: Logged |
