I'm dieting roid free and have decided to stop using DNP since it no longer works well for me. Charles Poliquin suggests that a person reduce carbs and fat intake and add in flax seed oil, fish oil and CLA to help loose fat quickly and maintain or build muscle. I am taking in 14g flax seed, 6g fish oils, and 6g CLA each day and cutting back on carbs until after lifting weights in the evening. I am also doing 45min of cardio on the treadmill every morning before I eat breakfast. I have lost a ton of weight in the past 4 years an have added alot of muscle but I can't seem to get these last 15 pounds off. If anyone can help me with the omega and cla fatty acid supplementation or my diet I would really appreciate it.

I might up the intake of flax seed oil. 14 grams is probably around 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons. I get about 30 grams a day of flax seed oil. This oil helps trap cholesterol from saturated fats and get rid of them. It is a great oil for fat reduction. I know taking in more oil seems counterproductive but this one works. So basically try doubling your flaxseed oil intake. 14 grams in morning and 14 grams before your dinner. Also drink extra water. This might help push out excess water that your body maybe retaining it it is not getting enough. The rest sounds fine to me.

I like to have at least 20 to 30 percent of my daily caloric intake come from as many healthy fats as possible, when I am trying to gain mass and when I am dieting (right before I start my keto dieting). Now some of this will be a little saturated, but this is unavoidable.

Thanks guys, I'll try upping the flax seed oil. I just switched from the pills to the oil and I have to say it tastes shit and hangs around for ever. I took some this morning and I was burping it up until dinner.

giantset, after 2 tbsp. of flaxseed, you may want to try using some peanut butter and olive oil (much better tasting in some things that don't mix well with flaxseed oil) to add good fat calories. Helps keep the cost down a little too. (Haven't tried it or heard anything about it's taste, but I read that canola oil is a real good one too).

I worry about the number of people on these boards complaining about the foul taste of flaxseed oil. If it's cold-pressed and fresh, it should taste slightly nutty, nothing more. If it tastes or smells foul there is 100% chance it is rancid. It only keeps 3 months (max)in the fridge from when it's pressed. If it tastes bad the day you buy it, return it for a refund. You can keep it longer than 3 months by storing it in the freezer, and some manufacturers will seal it under nitrogen to keep it fresh. But once you open it the nitrogen escapes and it still needs to be used quickly.

You can buy nitrogen at any decent wine supplier and put a layer of nitrogen on top before resealing, same concept as keeping wine fresh after corking it.

Yeah, I watch out for any foul tasting flaxseed oil. Even fresh though, there are some things that it doesn't mix well with (at least with the brand I'm using, but that will be changing shortly).

I eat peanut butter everyday. I love the taste and there is a lot of good fat in it. I eat a spoonful at a time. Either after a low-fat meal or mixed in a protein shake. I'm staying lean at the moment, but I will take just as much, if not more when I'm bulking starting in Sept.
