A high level of serum density lipoproteins (HDL) is beneficial. They are associated with low risk of heart disease. This is from unsaturated type fats. The HDL particle entraps cholesterol and prevents it from depositing in plaques on our arterial walls. When there is a high level of low-density lipoprotein this becomes harmful. (LDL) contains large concentration of cholesterol and will stick to the artery walls. The (LDL) comes mostly from saturated fats IP: Logged |
