My girlfriend just asked me how many calories she should be taking to lose weight. She doesn't keep track of her intake, but wants to start. Could someone help me out with this one?
She's
5'11" 147lbs
How do you find out what your intake should be, so you lose?

the general guideline is to gain, multiply bodyweight by 18, maintain by 15, and to lose by 12. Of course, this doesn't take into account the fact that everyone has a different metabolism. So the best advice is to not get so much caught up in calories. Make sure she eats 5-6 small meals every 2-3 hours gets close to 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight and cuts carbs down as the day progresses.
