So many claim to be the best a promoting muscle and fat loss. Parrillo- high calorie high carbs high protein, low fat. Up to 10,000 calories per day to gain weight!!!! Brink- 2-1 ratio of carbs to protein along with good fats. High fat no carbs. What are your thoughts? IP: Logged |

10,000 calories? My suggestion is to keep protein intake to about 1 - 1.5 grams per body weight. Fat should be around 30% of mostly unsaturated fats and monosaturated fats and low on saturated fats. The rest is mostly low glycemic carbs to make up the rest of whatever caloric intake you need to be at. Spread this out over 5 - 6 meals and that will usually do the trick. IP: Logged |

I read in Flex Chris Aceto recomends 1-1 ratio of carbs-protein. 1 Hour before workout 3-1 ratio, after workout 4-1 ratio. Any thoughs? IP: Logged |

From the information given, it is hard to tell what the total carb to protein ratio for the whole day would be. The suggestion of before and after meals actually do not sound that bad. For example, the four to one ratio after a workout could be 100 grams of a carbs to 25 grams of protein. If the workout was intense, this would be good to start the glycogen replacement. IP: Logged |

I did the high fat no carb diet for about 4 days. I actually hurt my bicept curling. Maybe without any glycogen in the muscle they are prone to injury. IP: Logged |
