man it seems like i often get a setback because of this, okay as you all know I am 18 and still at the point in my education where i dont know what i am gonna do,therefore since i go to school i dont have time now for a steady job, i make a few bucks of the net and that is it, anyways i am busy alot but i always take some time to get my five to six meals a day, i am of course on what i call my bulk and cut up stage,i am actually gaining muscle and getting more cut at the same time thanks to losing excess water and actually some stored carbohydrates, anyways i sometimes find myself totally out of protein stuff and money.and i hate having to get my parents to buy me food and at times they are busy and cant do it,also they arent supportive about my physical fitness routine trying to be a pro bodybuilder crap, they seem to think i am nuts and that no one in the world is like me, they would probably go nuts if they saw this board, you know i am amazed how people eat nowdays, most people thank you are a goof if you try to eat right!what is this world coming to. Anyways what i was gonna ask is this, i know someone has gone through this before but when you are flat broke and out of your protein food what the hell do you do?i can keep eating healthy if i go on a low calorie diet,i would still be able to get my percentages that are 50 protein,25% carbs and 25% fats, but it would probably only be 1000-1200 calories a day, and i would probably lose some muscle i have worked so hard to get here lately, if i keep taking in the 2500-2700 calories a day i will be forced to eat alot of non health food such as corn dogs, hot dogs, spaghetti, and basically what my parents cook, then no telling what would happen, i might gain five more pounds but it would probably be half fat, please someone help me out here because i really am very obsessed with my looks and i always want to do the best possible on my body, and i cant quit going to college and get a job just so i can have a little more protein, i often wish i could get paid for my workouts eating and such, maybe i should put on 100 pounds and be a pro wrestler ala the rock,or be a pro bodybulder they get paid for working out and their nutrition and it is easy for a pro because you have no worries about your next meal, you can eat 80% of your food from protein and workout in the best facilities, hell i have ordinary weights and i can make serious gains, hell i couldnt imagine if i had a great workout facility, well one day i will have my life in order and like most of you i will have a great gym to workout in, a personal trainer and all the money i need to be a lean mean muscle machine, or i could say a big mean muscle machine because i have so many goals it isnt funny i want to be just like the pro bodybuilders except i wanna stay in the contest shape year around so i can show off everywhere i go.

Stop whining! All that stress is going to make your cortisol go through the roof ... and then you'll never make any gains! First, if you feel that you don't have enough money, and that you don't want to be dependent upon your parents, then take some of that enthusiasm you have about bodybuilding and redirect it toward becoming a wealthy, independent person. Get motivated, get entrepreneurial, get an attitude, and most of all, get a Day Timer! Because this whole "I'm young and busy and in school" crap is just a perception you need to break through. Stop spending all of your time in front of your computer to make money and strike your fortune in the real world instead. Second, realize that you can't have everything all at once, so learn to defer certain pleasures and indulgences until a later time. Third, as for your food, it's hard to say because it's not clear whether you want to bulk or cut. But eggs are really cheap, and when you break it down, so are mass-market MRPs like MEtRx. Plus, if you become a sports-supplements salesperson (like the Mass Quantities affiliate program), you'l get breaks on your purchases anyway. Finally, you're too hung up on and nervous about percentages. You're young and probably healthy, so why not try eating just 3 big, healthy, mixed meals a day? And if you live with your parents, then stop whining and do them a favor: Take over the food shopping, and shock the hell out of them by taking over the cooking of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, make really delicious coffee, chocolate, peanut butter, or fruit shakes that taste like milkshakes. Get creative with the recipes. A little heavy cream won't kill you, but it will make your mom and dad think their drinking something with ice cream in it! For dinner, make some great old-fashioned home-cooked meals, and always make enough so the left-overs will be the next day's lunch. Get into a rhythm. And don't try to force them to eat bodybuilder food, either. If you modify some basics -- eggs, meatloaf, roasted chiken, pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, etc. -- you'll make THEM happy, plus YOU won't feel like you're dieting. Most of all, some days you'll get more carbs, while other days you'll get more protein. And some meals, like eggs and read meat, will be super high fat while others, like chicken breasts and salad, will be very low fat. It will all balance out. IP: Logged |

Welcome to the world of being a student man. This is where you will learn to grow up and prioritize things of most importance to you. Unfortunately, most students, myself included, do not have a hell of a lot of money. So, the thing you will have to learn is how to B U D G E T your money. Get a part-time job if you can. Also, although protein is very important, you can get by with around 30% if it is high quality. Also, try the isocaloric diet. It raises your fat ratio, and may I add that most healthy fats are very cheap. Try adding peanut butter, canola oil, etc. they are very inexpensive. Concentrate on your diet and the foods that you eat and not soo much on supplements. If you have extra money, then you can buy supplements. Find ways to have your mom buy some of your groceries if she can, since you still live at home, and whatever she doesn't get you, then go get it yourself. Try to get her to buy the expensive stuff like chicken breasts, etc., the protein stuff that is more expensive. Also, most carb foods are pretty damn cheap, and god knows they are in everything. Most protein powders (Designer protein, EAS, etc) are pretty cheap, and all you will have to do is add milk (which is a fairly cheap protein and is always overlooked). Maybe milk is something your mom can buy. Don't expect her to buy anything that is uncommon to most mothers, this is what you will have to get on your own. Tuna is fairly cheap, Make a tuna sandwich on wheat bread. One last thing, at 18 years old, and 4% bodyfat, I would be eating everything in sight and not worrying too much on gaining a little bit of fat. As long as you do not go much over 10-12% bodyfat, then you will be using your bodies natural hormone levels (at your age) to your advantage. I would be concentrating on gaining as much muscle as possible while your natural hormone levels are at their peak right now. After they decline, you will wish you had taken advantage of this because it is the only time in your life that you will make decent gains without the use of drugs. Trust me on this man. Gains are slow after this stage of your life so take advantage of it while you can. And no, I am not saying be a fat-ass, just use what you have while you have it, and learn to use your money smart. Find ways to succeed. woops, one last thing, try eating eggs in the morning with the yolk, they are damn cheap, and the fat in them will do you more good than bad. OAtmeal is cheap too.....I am gonna stop here. Good luck man. IP: Logged |
