okay i was wondering something about the percentages. i average 44% protein,28% carbs and 28% fats okay i dont eat like this but was wondering what would be wrong with this for a total of three meals? overall calories=700
okay if you total these three meals up you get a total of calories=1750
so does it really matter if you eat any junk food as long as you eat it in the day time and if the percenage ends up really good, also if you are about to play basketball or run and you eat something like ice cream and say a protein shake. wouldnt the protei go to your muscles while your body uses the carbs and fat from the ice cream for energy? or does everything go into your muscle?

Many of the food types you listed may add up to the percent of fat you say but it is the quality of fat in them that is the problem. Much of it is saturated fats or also may contain trans-fats. These are the ones that cause clogging of the circulatory system along with other health and dietary problems. Try to have the percentage of fat to be monosaturated or unsaturated type fats. These fats actully have health benefits. Also, the carbs you have listed are high glycemic. Try replacing the percentage of carbs with lower glycemic carbs. These carbs take longer to digest and will supply energy more evenly through out the day. So basically, it is not quantity, but quality that counts. IP: Logged |

Yes, if you ingest too much high glycemic carbs your body will take the excess from the "sugar rush" and store it as fat. As for the fat types, if you are harmiing the insides of your body than the outside is a matter of time. If your arteries or heart start becoming clogged up then this will affect your blood flow. With lack of, or restricted, blood flow will come low energy levels at workouts. Recuperations from workouts will be longer. And needless to say, what would happen to your workouts after having a stroke of heart attack. IP: Logged |

Definately cut out the McDonald's french fries. The ice cream is debatable because the lactose sugar in dairy products have a pretty low glycemic rating. Also, the protein within the ice cream and the protein from the other meats/peanut butter will slow gastric absorption. Also, the fat in the ice cream (assuming its the typical dairy fat) will slow down the absorption rate as will the fat from the peanut butter. Don't buy the reduced fat version ice cream nor the sherbet ice creams because they will contain more sugar. If you are serious about this meal, eat it in the morning where your insulin levels are low, and the sensitivity is highest. Then, the meal with the frosted flakes would fit in nicely after your workouts. The other meals I guess would do alright, but try and cut out the saturated fat and replace it with healthy ones. Also, the peanut butter should be the all-natural brands. ***One last comment: A meal that contains High Glycemic Carbs + Saturated fat = very BIG Trouble IP: Logged |
