i just finished loosing weight (80 lbs). during this time i couldnt put an ounce of muscle on. i did cardio 5-6 days a week 40 min. i consumed around 1500-1800 cals a day. i also lifted my ass off but i have nothing to show for that. i know why i couldn't pack any muscle on but i still have some unresolved issues. so i have two questions for you guys. first off i am 6'2 194 lbs, 19 years old. question 1: how many calories a day should i be eating to gain? question 2: how much cardio should i do? if anyone can offer some assistance i would greatly appreciate it. i am in need of some help here. thanks-brendan IP: Logged |

An easy way to start out with the calories is to multiply your bodyweight by 12. If you find this is too low try adding an extra 300-500 calories per day until you feel like you are seeing some results. Or you could just take 15 times your bodyweight and judge it from there. If you start gaining too much fat, take away 300 calories per day. Of course, how you set up your macronutrient ratios can also help. As far as the cardio goes, if you are trying to add mass, don't even bother doing the cardio. IP: Logged |
