im 16, 5'6",185 lbs. Im on a low, no carb diet. Im eating lots of protein. chicken, tuna, egg whites. Im not using any suppliments or anything.
I do 40 min. cardio everyday. I do crutches and situps(5 min) everyday to work my obliques(5 min), upper(5min) and lower(5 min.) ab. I also do lots of pushups, side crutches, and other stuff like that. I lift 3 sets of 24 at 90lbs(all resistence I have) on soloflex type machine everyother day.I drink about 4-6 glasses of water a day.

I'm not too sure if this is goodor not. I really need to loose some body fat. I am willing to suffer for it too. Please tell me if this is good, what I should change or do differently. thanks.

one more thing, please make it easy for me to understand because I just started working out and stuff.

You must drink a agllon of water a day. This really helps the metabolism and helps flush fat and water that you retain out of the body. I sugest you get on a good weight training program and build some lean muscle mass. Keep up the cardio but you may be overtraining , just do 30 min. atleast 5 days a week. You should probably add more carbs. to your diet if you are doing all that cardio. Your body needs the energy. This is coming from a female's perspective but I can only tell you what's worked for me. It also helps to work out at a gym and get a few tips from the pro's there. Since I've joined a gym and got myself a personal trainer I've lost 20 lbs and went from 26%bodyfat to 16% bodyfat in 8 months. Good Luck!

Your diet looks like it's pretty good for what you're wanting to do. Definitely drink as much water as you possibly can without feeling bloated. You may want to cut back to 20-30 mins of cardio per day and cut down on the ab work you're doing, and add full-body weight training to your routine. The more muscle you have on your body, the more calories that muscle will burn during the day to fuel itself. No point in spending so much time on abs if there's a layer of fat over the muscle. Burn that fat off, then you can work on that 6-pack. You'll also need to add a slight amount of carbs to a weight-training workout, especially post-workout.

You may not be getting enough fat, which is essential if you're not eating carbs. It turns "off" the carb-burning enzymes and turns "on" the fat-burning enzymes. So if all you're doing is protein, protein, protein, there's no metabolic shift, therefore a lot of protein is being turned into glucose, therefore you're not really getting the benefits of a low-carb diet and may in fcat be starving/catabolizng yourself.

If you're just starting out, read "The Ketogenic Diet" by Lyle MacDonald and do the basic diet he describes. Then, after you've shed most of your flab and as you become more of an intermediate-level bodybuilder, you may want to switch from a traditional to a cyclical ketogenic diet.

Does this help?
