just wanted to know if anyone knows a good way to determine the optimal ratio of protein, carbs, and fat for each individual?

You should consume around one gram of protein for every pound you weigh. Lets say you weigh 150 then you need to ingest 150 grams of protein a day which will be 600 calories of protein (1 gram of protein equals 4 calories). This would be around 25% of your 2400 caloric intake. Total fat intake can vary from 30 grams to 60 grams a day. Just make sure it is not saturated fat. 30 grams of fat intake would be around 270 calories a day of this. (1 gram equals 9 calories) The remaining caloric intake of 1530 can be carbs this would be around 382 grams of carbs (1 gram equals 4 calories). Try to consume low glycemic carbs to help spread out the energy level from these.

I've wished for the same thing myself, but i don't think there is any way for you to tell what a best ratio would be. Generally Speaking, however, if you are chubby and/or if the is a history of diabetes in your family, you should cut your carbs. But ultimately, you'll just have to experiment and be very methodical about keeping records.
