is it smart to try putting on 10-15 pounds of muscle while on atkins?or will a lot be fat?, anyways i found out that the reason i dont have a great six pack is because i have a good amount of loose skin left over from weight loss. so when i do lose the skin i will look like a normal 4 pct body fat person, can anyone recomend any kind of cream that will suck the water out of you adn the loose skin?i dont want surgery but i do have about 5 or 6 pounds of loose skin to get rid of, any help would be great and why would any equal hurt someone on the atkins diet, it is sugar and carb free.

let me know this

thanks
joe

A ketogenic diet is more suited for cutting than for bulking, however if you choose to bulk on a ketogenic diet I would recoment a cyclic ketogenic diet like bodyopus or the anabolic diet. If you aren't to worried about putting some fat back on go on a high carb bulking cycle for a few weeks you will get better results.

Aspartame may or may not effect you on a ketogenic diet. Some people are sensitive to eating it, and some are not. Aspartame is composed of two amino acids (aspartic acid and phenylalanine) and methanol. Aspartame is sugar free, BUT it has the same caloric value as sucrose (sugar), 4 kcal/g. Aspartame however, is 100-200 times sweeter than sucrose so less is used to achieve the same degree of sweetness. Aspartame is used in diet sodas (you probably already know this), and some people get kicked out of ketosis by drinking them. Everyone is different and this is something that you will have to find out for yourself. I am perfectly fine drinking diet colas. To find out whether or not it kicks you out of ketosis, check your ketostix every few hours.

Aspartame is made of two amino acids: phenylalanine and aspartic acid, not methanol, which is an alcohol. When aspartame is hydrolyzed methanol is formed. The little amount of methanol formed is harmless, since orange juice contains many times more methanol naturally. The body has the capacity to metabolize small amounts of methanol safely.
