is tuna a good post work out snack? we've got like 30 cans of chunk light tuna around here and it's the only good thing i can find to eat after a work out. the can says it's got lots of protein so i assume it's good to eat, right?

yes, tuna is very good. Post workout, however, you should really try to eat carbs, in addition to the protein.

Tuna fish is a great choice but lesson to what ore says make sure you bring in plenty of carbs after your workout.

Try some tuna helper. It is easy to make and will boost your carbs with your protein from tuna fish. It tastes pretty good too.

How many carbs should be consumed post workout. I am aware that if you get too many carbs they will turn to fat (if like me you work out later in the day 8:00pm). So whats a good number to feed your muscles without feeding your fat??

You would be better off taking your tuna in after your work out, this is when your muscles will use it best.

Eating a can of dry tuna sounds like a great idea, but the tastes get old real quick. I hate tuna because thats what I used to do. Definitley try to mix it with something else like the tuna helper. Better yet, if you want the protein just grab some protein bars, they taste so much better than dry tuna.

I would suggest that you should consume about 40 grams protein and 50 - 60 grams carbs post workout.
