Yes, I am assuming you are referring to the book by Mauro DiPasquale. It is a great diet to lean up while maintaining mass. All the low carb/ketogenic diets work if they are followed CORRECTLY. There is a good one out by Lyle McDonald called "The Ketogenic Diet". The science behind is rather extensive, but valid. Try it, but follow it to the letter. If you have trouble reaching ketosis, add some MCT to diet(a tablespoon at each meal), it will readily convert to ketones. I don't Think DiPasquale recccomends it but it is a good jumpstart. just because you are not showing ketones on the keto sticks does not mean you are not in ketosis. I had the same problem. If you are using up all the ketones you produce for energy you will show a negative reading on the stick but you will still be in ketosis. Lyle mcdonald covers this in his book "the ketogenic diet" it will tell you all you need to know. IP: Logged |
