I wanna get ripped once and for all. Currently 6'3", 220 around 12%bf. Keto-diets dont work well for me. I heard a couple of you got ripped w/ the Zone. Wanna do it modified w/ 40%prot, 30%fat and 30%carbs. I'll do 1g prot per lb bodyweight. 220g a day. 165g carbs and 73g fat.
3 meals
Myoplex
1/2 Orange
2 Tsp. Canola Oil OR 2 Tsp. Nat Peanut Butter, either w/ 5 Fish oil Capsules

2 meals
7 oz. Chicken OR 8 egg whites/1 egg and 2 scoops protein powder
1/2 cup oatmeal
1.5 cups broccoli
2 Tsp Canola Oil OR 2 Tsp. Nat Peanut Butter, either w/ 5 Fish Oil Capsules

Anyone use Yams, I know Sears says no but just wondering if anyone tried and got good results. Gonna try oatmeal to get enough carbs b/c it's really hard, I'd need 8cups broccoli for enough for 1 meal, and I dont want too much fruit. Anyway, any suggestions or sample diets u used to get ripped (esp da big thinker/tns) and anyone else, i'd appreciate it. Thanx guys

pwb...if ripped is what you want, then you have made the right decision.at your stats, you should see visible results within a 3-4 week period.this is the first diet that has gotten rid of my love handles without the use of cardio.don't sweat the carb intake too much.as long as you eat the carbs prescribed specifically for you...it'll be o.k.not only did i use yams, but rice and potatoes as well.the only thing is that i kept my carb intake as per my proportions.i didn't use many fruits myself...mostly broccoli, carrots, potatoes, yams and oatmeal.your meal#1 & 2 look good.i used mrp's as well and ate 8 times/day instead of 5 as recommended by sears.if you require my exact menu, drop me an e-mail and i can help you out in any way i can.enjoy being ripped my friend.people still don't beleive i got ripped without cardio.it works.

Da Big Thinker, thanx for your feedback. I'm gonna start this modified Zone soon, been sick for 2 weeks w/ a mouth infection, then just got my wisdom teeth pulled. havent eat whole food in over 2 weeks. ANYWAY. I've been thinking about this A LOT. I know keto-diets dont work well for me, so I'm giving this approach a try. I figured as a bodybuilder the ratio's usually change to 40%prot, 30%carb and 30%fat. That would be at 1 g. protein per lb bodyweight. Since I believe that 1.5g per lb would be better, and keeping the amount of protein and carbs the same, I would be at 50%protein, 25%carbs and 25%fat. Carb and fat amounts would be the same but the % would change b/c of increased protein.
330g prot
165g carbs
73g fat
6 meals total
4 meals:
8 oz. Chicken
4 oz. Yam and 2 Cups Broccoli
1 tsp. Canola Oil and 4 Fish Oil Capsules

2 meals:
5.5 Scoops EAS Simply Protein (55g prot)
1/2 Scoop Maltodextrin
5 Fish Oil Capsules

Training will be Poliquins German Body Comp 3x week, no cardio. How do you think this sounds. I'm curious to know how many grams of protein you took in/how you set your ratio's/what was your starting and finishing bf%/and how long did it take you to get to there? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just VERY interested in how your approach was since my goal is to get ripped as soon as possible. Also, have you tried keto diets, if so how were your results. Thank you very much.

if i were you,i would stick to the zone diet as stated in the book to take advantage of the fat burning effects.you stated you want to get ripped.stick w/ the plan.i used the 6 block theory as stated in the book "mastering the zone diet".i'm a protein lover myself and usually consume about 400g/day in the off-season,but when i want to get ripped,i follow the zone diet at its strictest form.give the zone diet a fair chance and let me know what happens in 4 weeks.you'll be surprised with the effectiveness.start from there and if you need to change something, you'll have a better idea after a 4 week period.you're workout seems to be o.k. and will obviously help w/ thermogenesis.fyi.

I agree with da big thinker. Increasing you protein above 30% is just an expensive way to eat more carbs, because there will be way more protein in your diet than your body needs. You will also not be 'in the zone' and if you believe in this diet enough to follow it, then why would you eat outside of the zone?
