Since I'm trying to lose fat and maintain muscle, I have my last "meal" an hour before I go to bed and I try to make it no/very low carb. So far I've been mixing up chocalate protein powder and some peanut butter with water and ice...it tastes o.k., but it's getting boring. Any suggestions or new ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why don't you go to a supplement store, and check out all of the MRP's. Some of the are very low in carbo's, but off hand I'm not sure which is the lowest. I know which ones I like the taste of. Myoplex (most all), Metrx pro 50 (double chocolate is excellent), Twinlabs (chocolate, or strawberry avoid the french vanilla). I know they are a little more expensive the protein powders, but they're convenient and taste better than just protein poweder with peanut butter.

I'm not spamming here, but checkout www.designerwhey.com they have some pretty cool ones that are around 15g of carbs or less

I use Optimum Nutrition 100% whey double rich chocoloate protein powder. 1 scoop has 110 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 2.5 grams of carbs, and 22 grams of protein. I mix it with flax oil, glutamine, creatine, and some fat free, sugar free chocloate jello puddin mix..just a tad to make it taste like pudding add some ice and lil water and mix! Good stuff!

Your choices are very limited. Anything with very few carbs (less than 10) won't taste good and will be watery. If you're willing to spare some carbs, try Grow from Biotest. There vanilla is the best tasting MRP I've ever tried (orange myoplex ranks up there too), but it's expensive. They also claim that the protein content is 60% casein and 40% whey. For the type of ingredients, it's WAY overpriced, but then again, so are most other MRP's. Now, if your not concerned with taste that much, and are serious about bodybuilding, I think you should check out the protein factory. They have something called "night formula", which is made to be taken before bed. A combination of casein, milk protein isolate, CFM whey (the best there is) and soy protein isolate. It has almost no carbs, less than 2 grams if I remember correctly. Add some aminogen and you have the best before bed protein formulation you can buy. Oh, did I mention it's really cheap?
