I tried the keto diet and I felt like absolute shit and got sick too. Don't think its for me. So what exactly do you do for a high carb diet? I mean is it high carbs no fat high protein? Thanx

when I do a "no-carb" diet, I still eat fruits and shit and get carbs from them, I just avoid breads and pastas, cereals, etc and I still try and avoid really fattening stuff...I like lean steaks and chicken cutlets, protien shakes with some fruit, salads, etc...I cant imagine what no carbs at all must feel like, besides, I have a friend who ate so much bread that cutting only bread out made him lose about 5 lbs in one week...in other words, he would still eat pasta sometimes, but would eat cheeseburgers and stuff without a bun

Do not just all the sudden go onto a No/very low carb diet. Work your way down. Your body will adjust. Remember...you can control your cravings, if you can't control your body, then you have moved too fast. I like the seefood diet myself. B True

I really appreciate the feed back guys, can you give me an example of a normal day of what I could eat. And also on this diet are you ever allowed to cheat? I really appreciate the help.

Everyone is different so you have to find a diet that works for you and work with it a little. No carb diets for any length of time should only be used when dieting for a show. Just start by cutting out a few things here and there. High protein, moderate carbs. Right now I am leaning out for a photo shoot and I will be in a booth at the Arnold Classic so I am going 2 days no carbs except from green beans etc. 1 day carbs-complex carbs. I have 1 cheat day a week but will cut that out in Feb. Not one diet works for everyone so try a few things and give it some time. Eat chicken, tuna, lean sirloin, fish, turkey, eggs, oatmeal, rice, baked potatoes, bananas. Just my .02 from a ladies perspective

I am confused! You first tried ketosis(no carb), it did not work so you want to try high carb? hmmmmmm You have to make up your mind in what you want to do....lose fat or gain weight. Ketosis is to lose, high carb is to gain mass. Did I read it wrong? ------------------

I have been using a zone type diet and very happy with the results. Carbs are ok, just make them good as much as possible. I make sure to treat myself to something really good every weekend, and mid week snacks with good fats like avacado and trying to make it a lifestyle change instead of a definate "diet" process will make it easier. It;s like the 6 meal a day plan, when you know you get food soon the wait is not that bad. Same with a treat. A buddy of mine laid it out in a really cool way. Think about your diet like so: If you ate cheese burgers for 29 days every month and chicken breasts w/ broccoli the other days you would not lose much weight right? Same thing with a good diet. If the ratio of good meals is higher than bad meals you are going to get good results. So as far as dropping your carbs forget about it. My same friend also tried a keto diet and he said while on it when he drank coffee he got light headed so i do not think the keto diet is good for anyone not into pro body building. Basically; watch calories, stick to numbers like Valdez said, and make sure protein is never cut!

yo, TNS, my friend eats in the zone. he eats alot of food but he has only like 7% bodyfat. The only reason that I wouldnmt do the zone is that it looks like it takes alot of time and I dont have that time once classes start.

I know people do not like to hear this, but my experience with both fat loss and muscle gains are a slow steady process without extreme measures like gear and STRICT keto diets... The zone is long terms,, it is designed to allow you to make this your lifesytle. You may notice little burts of fat loss/muscle gain but the process has to be planned out for the long term. I do not want to sound like a jerk but I hit the gym almost every day and I remember faces... All those people I see a few times, trying crazy hard with poor form kinda make me sad. Fat loss is hard, and slow. Muscle gains are hard, and slow. Life sucks. Wear a helmet :^) |
