I searched on calorie formula here and found a few different answers. 1 said times your body weight by 10 to 12. 1 was a big long formula which came out much higher. A difference of 600 calories, which is alot for me. I'm 5'2", weigh 132. If I were to eat the long formula it calculates that I should eat 1958 calories a day!! The other says 1300. Then for fat loss reduce by 50 to 100 calories. Which is correct?

I think it depends a lot on your gender as well. You haven't said, but from your stats I'm assuming you're female, and most woemn have a slightly lower metabolic rate and LBM than men. So if you don't know your Active Metabolic Rate I recommend women to start with 12 cals per pound. If you're losing 1-2 lbs per week, then stick with this amount. If you're losing more or less than this, then you should adjust your calories up or down until you're in the 1-2 lb zone. So in your case maybe try 1600-1700 cals per day and see how you go.

Thanks for your replies and yes, I have a very slow metabolism and its getting slower as I get older.(I'm 42) I'll try the 1600 range. It seems like alot. I'll let you know how it's going. 50/30/20 sound good for percentages Pro/Carb/Fat for fat loss?

Of course Valdez would recommend the high #, he's a monster. LOL
For every reply concerning the proper macronutrient ratio you'll receive, you'll get a different ratio. I think all of this business concerning diets that are low fat/high carb, low carb/high fat, moderate fat/carb/protein, etc has distracted us from the simple fact that to lose weight you must consume less calories than you burn. Try consuming .5 to 1 gram (depending on how much you workout) of protein per lb of body weight with the rest of your calories coming from fat and carbs (tweak the fat and carb ratios until you find something that WORKS FOR YOU).
Remember
1 gram protein: 4 cal
1 gram fat: 9 cal
1 gram of carbs: 4 cal

I didn't know you were a woman.

I still think 1300 is too low.
