Alright guys, I have a contest to prepare at the end of March. I have a little over 4 months to diet down. I attend college 2 times out of the week (Tue and Thur) and on those days I am hard at work from 9a.m.-6p.m. with only one 2-hour break. The only way I can get my calories between classes is to chug a Protien shake. I am 5'6 and at the moment weigh about 180 at 9% bf. I have to work very hard to get ripped because I have a hard time losing bodyfat (but no problem at all gaining muscle/fat). I hope to come in at the contest at around 170lbs (hopefully a little more) at under 4% bf. I have come up with a diet plan, tell me what you guys think: Mon-Fri (low carb) Sat-Sun: The reason for the choices of food is because I am on a strict budget. Tell me what you guys think! Thanks..all input is greatly appreciated.- Rojan

Congrats on what I assume is your first show. My personal opinion is that with 10 lbs to lose over 16 weeks that you need to chill out just a little. Except for the broccoli you don't seem to be taking in any carbs after your first meal. I don't know how much a "bowl" of oatmeal is, nor can I deduce your total calories/protein/fat or carbs from what you've posted. I also don't know what your training is for weights or cardio. But I do know that (unless you're on AAS which you haven't mentioned) you need more carbs in your diet. My calculator says you only need to cut your calories by 2000 calories per week which is around 300 calories per day to achieve your goal (not counting cheat meals). Your diet plan also doesn't seem to include any potential muscle loss, which is inevitable if you're NOT on AAS. A better way to say what I'm trying to say is to tell us how you arrived at your diet plan. Take into account the time you have to diet (4 months should not be used as an excuse to cheat until the last 3 weeks), the amount of FAT you have to lose, the realistic amount of MUSCLE you will also lose if you're not on AAS, as well as your specific weight and cardio training approach. Give us some of this basic info and see if we can help.

Thanks for the reply. I am doing 75mg of Inj. Tren and 100mg of EQ EOD and also using ECA and later T3 for 4 weeks...so i suppose this will aid in keeping my muscle. I am starting cardio for 30min in the morn and 30 min before I lift. I have a training schedule of doing 1 body part per week (except calves and forearms I do twice per week) and I lift 5 times a week. I do abs everyday before I start weight training. I also might add a few tbsp's of Flax oil in there somewhere to help me in the essential fats department. Tell me what you think bro. Thanks- Rojan

Wow. That's a lot of cardio and not many calories for 4 months. But as long as you keep an eye on your mass (muscle I mean) and make sure you're not overdoing it you should be able to throw in enough cheat meals to keep your metabolism revved. One thing you might think about is saving your second cardio session until AFTER your weight session. It's good that you're starting early if you've never dieted for a show before. Just don't lose too much of that hard earned muscle. Overdieting is probably the number one mistake that novices make. Hehe, underdieting is the second most common mistake! Good luck. |
