I am currently in the middle of the third week of a CKD and am rather concerned about my state of ketosis. I did a rather short term CKD about 5 months ago and showed near purple consistenly until I carbed up. This time, I've barely gotten past trace, and am showing less and less ketones each week. Is my body using all of the ketones for fuel? I am still losing weight, but not as rapidly as the first week. I haven't lost any strength, in fact I may be gaining some after the weekend carb up. The sticks may show barely trace, then two hours later show none. Is there reason for concern? Or should I not place so much emphasis on the damn sticks? I eat less than 10 grams carbs per day and eat 70-75% fat, and strictly protein right after my workout. have lost about 13-14 lbs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
