Ok All the wise ones....Im 6'2 220 around 19%body fat. I workout 3-4 times a week and I am confused about all the food you are suppose to eat. I have heard 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Do I need to eat the least amount of fat I can? What about sugar? How late can I eat without worrying about putting on more bf? do you eat the same on days you dont workout than on the days you do? What about carbs? I heard 2 grams per pound of weight? When do I need to stop eating the carbs? Too much info. Please help.....r

dietary fat is not a bad thing! avoid saturated fats, animail fats etc. eat about 6 meals a day, it does NOT matter how late you eat. (as long as it doesn't affect your sleep) protein= the classic 1g per pound has always worked for me. if you are in the middle of a cycle eat 2g per pound. eat the same amount of calories everyday, as you grow on the "rest" days.

Good dietary fat should make up roughly 30% of your diet. I dont think there is a cut-off as to when youll turn into a pumpkin if you eat carbs. It can depend greatly on when and what type of working out you do. For instance, if you are doing 30 minutes or so of cardio late at night, consuming carbs will save the proteins from catabolism. On the other hand, if you do your working out in the morning and are sedentary at night, a big bunch of pasta right before bed is probably not the best idea. Do eat the same number of calories on days you dont work out. I switch around what I eat. On days that I work out, I consume a Whey MRP right after working out and my last meal is usually cottage cheese or Casein. I have more time to cook on days I dont work out and those meals are replaced by chicken, fish or whatever Im in the mood for. Ill take real food over meal in a glass any day. Keeping the calories about the same keeps your metabolism up. |
