I don't know anyhting about the Met-Rx only diet, but I seriously doubt you're 6'7, 166 lbs and 21%bf!!! (maybe you meant 5'7"??) I also don't think the heavy weight training is as important as lots of cardio if fat-loss is your goal. You need both unless you're on a ridiculously low calorie diet, which is not a good approach to fat-loss. Tell us what's involved in this diet and maybe we can help a bit more.

azz, i use metrx for about 50% of my protein intake. i wouldnt really suggest eating only one or two items along with metrx. metrx is not a food substitute and your body needs more than just shakes. i would suggest choosing very light meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and add them to a number of shakes and supplements. you wont gain anywhere near your potentioal with only using metrx....zeus

How about grilled chicken and brocolli as a substitute? Last year I used only ground beef, rice, and broccoli. That seemed to work great. I'm competing with two friends of mine to see who can loose the most %bf before Jan 15th. I am at a pretty big disadvantage considering both of these guys have a much higher %bf then I do. I'm guessing in the 30-40 range at least. I really don't care to loose more then 10%. Going to low isn't very health for the body from what I have gathered. We are betting $50. The money really isn't important in the grand scheme of it. It's more of a motivational issue then anything else. Something to shoot for. The workouts won't be a problem, that's the easy part. Diet is the key in my opinion. Thoughts? and thanks for the input thus far.

using Met-RX for your main calorie source is the stupidest thing you could possibly do. please don't!! It would be so bad for your health. If you want to lose weight use MET-RX with clean foods, and lots of fruits and vegies. your not a synthetic organism, don't try and live of synthetic food!!

I guess no one can really answer your question. How much bodyfat you lose is dependant on soooo many things. Your ability to eat below maintenance calories for several months while sticking to a regiment of cardio and weight training are what's gonna make the fatloss happen. It doesn't matter if you eat met-rx or Mcdonald's or fruit loops as long as you can stick to the reduced calorie diet you choose. I agree with valdez though. I am certain you would be HEALTHIER if you ate mostly real food, unprocessed grains and veggies, lean meats and protein supplements if needed. Tons of water and cardio first thing in the morning etc....

Also, there are better MRP out there than the original MET RX. It still uses coconut oil, which is rich is saturated and trans fats, which clog arteries, and the whey used is whey concentrate, which is lower quality.

actually (I may be wrong, but I don't think so) as far as I know Metamyosin is only caseinates and milk isolates without any whey |
