what's the deal with omega 3,6 content? Olive oil is the best of the oils for you besides flax, hemp. but I was interested in drinking 2-4 tbsp a day to get more calories that's about 500 calories. I use flax seed oil once every other day at night with protein shake. what say you??? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Do not really know what you are asking, but olive oil is a poor choice for omega-6 fatty acids. Olive oil only has ~6% omega-6 content. Olive oil is a good choice for the omega-9 fatty acids. It has a somewhat high level of oleic acid behind macadamia and high-oleic sunflower oil. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

One more thing, olive oil has no omega-3 content in it just in case you were wondering. Also, I would just stick with the Flax oil evry day if the taste does not bother you. Another oil I like to use is canola oil, as well as the ones we have already discussed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yes, olive oil is a good source for dietary fat in my mind. I was just trying to distinguish it from the other oils. I feel the other sources of fat that were previously discussed are better, but olive oil is a good monounsaturated source of fat, and it is cheap and easy to obtain. Again, if I had a preference, I would just add more flax oil, but olive oil is fine to use in adding more dietary fat to your diet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
