Recently i've been supplementing with Flax Seed oil, 2 Tbs a day, for the Omega3's. My question is some people say fish oil is better, i know it's more expensive, but isn't it the same shit? Or are there other stuff in there other than what Flax offers? thanks

Flax seed has the highest ration of omega 3: omega 6, Fish oil is good but not as high a ratio. Depends what your boddy gets more of in your food. Most american diets exceed in omega 6, but strongly lack in omega 3.

However the ratio should be in favor of omega 6, but becaue most dietary fats come from 6 sources, omega 3 tend to be supplemented mor heavily. here's a little think I found. "People are more likely to consume too much of the omega-fl fatty acids than the omega-3 fatty acids. What is crucial for proper health is the balance between the two essential fatty acids. In 1990, Canada's Minister of National Health and Welfare recommended a daily six-to-one ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids for people between the ages of 25 and 49: For men; (based on 2700 calorie diet) 9 grams of omega-fl; 1 .5 grams of omega-3. For women: (based on 2000 calorie diet) 7 grams of omega-fl; I . I grams of omega-3. Remember: We must consume all of the essential nutrients that our body requires. Essential fatty acids in net ion best in the presence of ample amounts of vitamins A, B3, B6, C and E, and the minerals magnesium and zinc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ |
