i started dieting down to lose some fat a couple of months ago. I went from 215 to 198 in about 2 months. I ate 200g of protein every day, and just reduced carbs. I worked out the same, but just did more cardio for about half an hour 3 times a week. Well what shocked me really was that my body fat stayed the same! So the damn 17 pounds i lost were water and muscle? Whatever the case, i was pissed. Oh product i used was MD6. How can i lose fat and not muscle?

1 make sure that your weught lifting and your cardio are atleast 8 hours apart. 2 always do cardio on an empty stomach with the assist of a good eca product. (with coffee for best results) 3 drink tons of water before, during, and after your cardio sessions. 4 never sprint! keep it at a light jog; sprinting will only cause you fast twitch muscle to come in action and that is what burns the muscle. 5 supplementing with some glutamine would be a good idea/ substituting fat for carbs speeds up the process; atleast it does for me good luck on you shreddings

I don't know if you're going to like this "answer", but here it is, and it's simple: Low doses of AS, or testosterone (esp Sust or Propionate). The more I think about it, and the more experienced I get with AS (only about 1 1/2 years now), I really think body shaping via fat loss might be the safest, most moderate way to use AS. What I mean is that you can probably do more to re-shape your body via low dose AS use (maybe combined with T-3 or T-4)combined with diet/excercise than you can by taking larger stacks of AS (plus whatever else) combined with diet/excercise to try to get "huge". The latter option is what most people tend to think of as the "traditional" use of AS.

It would help to know more exactly what you were doing in terms of diet and training. Stuff like total calories, grams of carbs, fats, how many meals, how often and what you ate at each meal. Also, was your sodium reduced, water intake increased and were you taking any other supplements. What was your starting and finishing % bodyfat? It is very possible to lose 17 lbs of water just by changing from a high sodium, high carb diet to a low sodium, low carb diet.

i cut back sodium a lot, i was taking MD6 supplement. 2 in am, 2 before lunch. I was at 19% body fat and ended with 19% body fat. so i lost 17 pounds of somethin but it wasn't fat. I didn't count calories but i ate around 6 meals a day, low carbs in the morning and lunch, and hardly any at dinner time. I ate 200+ grams of protein every day. Where did i go wrong? any help please?

It's hard to know what (if anything) went wrong. My first reaction is that you: 1) Lost a lot of water/glycogen, and 2) Also lost some fat. I don't really trust your run-of-the-mill fat measurements because they can be out by plus or minus 3% from your real %bf. In other words, if you (for instance) had your %bf measured by skin-fold, then the person taking the measurements only has to be out by a few millimeters where they measure each site to make a large difference. Or even worse is if the measurements aren't taken by the same person both times. Bioimpedence is not much better because it is affected by your hydration stae, which probably changed between the 2 measurements. The other thing that's difficult to determine is whether your diet was working for you. Since you don't know what your intake was, it's possible you were eating too much. 200 grams of protein is not much for a dieting 215 lb male. And if your calories were too low, that can also cause problems with fatloss. In fact, too few calories is more likely to make you lose muscle rather than fat. And lastly, 30 minutes of cardio 3x per week is not much. SOme men can get away with very little cardio, but you may not be one of those. Most people need to really concentrate on early morning cardio to getthe fatloss to take off. It may be that none of these things were factors in your case, but I feel you really need to set a more precise diet plan, work out how much protein, complex carbs and fats your going to have at each meal based on a sensible calorie intake. And be sure to have your %bf measured by the same (experienced) person each time, and at the same time of day. Good luck.

thanks bro for your insight. I guess diet is much more complex than i thought. I gotta start counting more than just proteins now... and change it up a bit. I'll start on the morning cardio and see how it goes to start off and then figure out my diet.

thanks bro for your insight. I guess diet is much more complex than i thought. I gotta start counting more than just proteins now... and change it up a bit. I'll start on the morning cardio and see how it goes to start off and then figure out my diet. it's kinda hard being a student and doing all this stuff for college and having to count calories when each minute of a busy day counts. That's why i just counted proteins because it was easy. I'll look more into it and see how it goes. |
