How much fiber should you get a day? Being on high protein, low carb, not getting enough fiber. What fiber source has lowest carbs? Natural foods? Fiber powders (ie Metamucil)?

It depends on what you mean by low-carb. If you mean ketogenic, then the best thing to do is not worry too much during your keto days, then make sure you get plenty of fiber on your high carb days (from grains, metamucil, veggies or whatever). If you're on a moderate carb diet (30-40% of your calories from carbs) then it's easy to incorporate high fiber vegetables (they're actually referred to as 'fibrous' veggies), whole grains such as oats, brown rice etc....

I think metamucil has around 2 grams of fiber per serving. Celery is a good low carb fiber food.

i try to get around 30-50g from food alone(i eat about 150-200g of carbs aday),then add a fiber supplements that will give me 15-20g more. i think fiber is one part of mutrition that has to be very high.

Almost any NON root vegetable will give you lots of fiber with few carbs. These veggies also will not noticeably affect your glucose/insulin levels. In other words anything but carrots, potatoes, yams etc... Also avoid pulses such as peas, lentils and beans.

More specifically try to eat lots of spinach, zucchini, letteuce, peppers, cabbage, broccoli, celery, mushrooms, or anything that's leafy and green.

You can also get fiber laxitives (like metmucil) that are artifically sweetened, so they shouldn't cause much of an insulin spike.

You can buy a can of pysllium whole husks. The husks are fiber non-digestible by the human, so there are no recognizable carbohydrates, zero.
