I personally don't like hair, so wax. If you have a very pretty face, then I'll settle for trimmed. Usually I prefer someone who is smooth naturally.

Speaking of WAXING. I NADed my chest once and wound up with a horrible rash-looking thing for a month. Does waxing cause the same? Puc ------------------

I used to get my chest waxed once a month, and I never got a rash. However, I did get pretty bad ingrown hairs. I now have had my hair lasered off, and my skin is much happier.

Kleen -- They charge by the hour, so it depends on how much hair you have, how dark your is (the darker it is, the less time needed), and how light your skin is (the lighter your skin, the less time needed). If you just want to get your chest done and your an untanned white guy with brown hair, it would probably cost about $600-800.

401-I don't know anything about laser removal. Does the hair ever come back and are there any side effects?

A lot of people claim that the hair will never come back, but it's never been scientifically. The place I go guarantees that it won't come back for 10 years. There aren't any side effects. There is a chance of burning if the person operating the laser is inexperienced, so pick a person who does laser hair removal for a living, not someone who does it on the side. Also, you can't have any sun exposure for 3 weeks before and after each treatment, and you will probably need about 5 sessions or so, depending on the person, so it's best to start as soon as summer's over. After your first session, your chest looks like you have a bad sunburn, but that goes away after a few days. In my opinion, the main consideration is pain -- before you pay hundreds of dollars, ask for a free trial session & see if you stand it. |
