Why do some groups of ethnicity get so pissed when you stereotype them.All stereotypes are based on truth.I remember the incident where a white golfer was asked by reporters what they should serve at the dining hall after Tiger Woods' victory at a golf tournament, and he said "Fried chicken and collard greens", which apparently is a typical meal eaten by blacks.The media was in a frenzy and called him racist because he said something stereotypical.Now, are they saying that most black people don't eat fried chicken favorably?It's ridiculous.People are all getting mad over the truth.It's like me suspecting that most women in sports are probably lesbian.I bet people will get mad at that.But in reality, women sports was started and shaped because of lesbians(this is a truth and not an insult).So why would it be wrong for me to suspect that there is still a strong lesbian presence in women's sports.Even today in a liberal society some people still wan't some opinions to be censored....typical.    | ||

I fuckin love fried chicken.I especially like the skinless fried chicken, the one where it's only the deep fried bread on the outer part of the chicken.I aint even black.Oh and another thing why do black people refer to that kind of food as "Soul food", it's just southern food. | ||

It is not what Fuzzr Zeller said about Tiger. It is the way he said it. He was upset that he lost to a younger golfer and wanted to lower Tiger's status by comapring him to a poor black rural shre-cropper from the 1890s (even though Tiger is only part black). I would wager that most urban blacks do not eat collard greens. But fried chicken is loved by all! | ||

Yeah I agree, but I was just using the situation as an example.Also, it's amazing but you're the first brotha to admit Tiger is only half black, good for you.I'm just saying that stereotypes are nothing more but an obvious jest of the norm of a certian racial group. | ||

I should really use spellcheck or type slower...lol. Bart, You are correct in assuming that most stereotypes come from truths (or at least partial truths) but when those stereotypes are used to harm a marginal group, then it becomes discrimination.

Bart Boy, true, true, true...but...although I wish people could "take a joke" better, most can't!! Trust me, as a guy working in a child-care facility for the last 4 years, I get all kinds of shit about being a sicko and all that shit, however I've been there longer than anyone else, babysit for about 10 different families regularly, etc. If people would just stop using stereotypes as their SOLE way of understanding someone, all would be merry...and bright!! EVERYONE on the tour said that fuzzy is a jokester and says some things that he probably shouldnt.... he isnt an idiot, he KNOWS tiger is the best thing to happen to golf... and no comment like that could bring someone down... | ||
