Jesus was born in the Spring. We know this, probably late March early April. Most of his "miracles", for example, "Jesus feeds 5,000" have since been explained. It's not that he made the food appear "magically", it is that he engendered cooperation between people and there was enough food to go around etc.

Christmas has been celebrated on Dec 25 sicne the Roman calendar was implemented. Note that Dec 25 800 was the day Charlemagne became Emperor.
