I was thinking of getting high speed internet. I know a local company who does it, actually there are several. What is the difference between dsl and cable modems? How much does either cost per month? And how would they work on a piece of shit browser like netscape?     | ||

I've not experienced DSL yet but I am using cable. I get really good transfers. DSL is used over you telephone line,and cable is used over the cable. with cable all the bandwidth is pretty much shared with all the users of your cable system, dsl is a straight connect to the isp, but is limited by distance to the local Central Office. And a few people I spoke to said it may or may not work depending on line conditions..etc. |
