During this debate, Matt hit the nial on the head, and here is my story to back it;

In late 1993, I was a deputy for the Polk County Sheriffs Office, which is in centrl Florida. One evening in Winter Haven, Four males car jacked another vehicle containing three males and a female. One of the suspects held a gun to the driver of the victim vehicle and forced the driver to drive to a cow pasture just outside of Kissimee. The others followed in a seperate vehicle.

Once in the field, the suspects forced the males to strip and place their underwear over their heads. They then made them lay face down and one at a time shot them in the back of the head.

The last victim, however, survived. He had his hands laced behind his head, the bullet struck a bone in his hand, causing the bullet to deflect. He then played dead.

The suspects left the girl (she was Afican-American, the victims hispanic and the suspects African-American) unharmed. I guess they had some type of race loyalty.

The suspects were identified by the living victim and the girl. They were eventually arrested. One suspect was taken down by our ERT team and my partner transported the suspect to the county jail.

This is the point to the whole story: My partner told me while enroute to the jail the suspect asked if he thought they would get the death penalty. My partner said, " you executed two people for no reason but your own enjoyment, what do you think"!

He told me the suspect started crying and saying, "I don't want to die, I don't want to die"!
