i was just wondering how many of you train at home or have maybe a bench or rack or even dumbells at home. i neeeed to get my bench up and am thinking of getting a bench and olympic wt set. just wondering if anyone else has a similar setup. also, do you think living on the 2nd floor in an apt would be unsafe to have a flat bench on? wouldnt want to fall through the goddamn floor.but some people have waterbeds and those sumbitches HAVE to be heavy. ------------------

What's up Bignate? Yeah, I've got a home setup that exists of dumbs 10- 100 lbs. and an inclinable/declinable bench with preacher. Also upper pully, lower pully, fly machine with rack and all of the cable accessories. Also have a pullup/dips stand in the corner as well as 500lbs. in plates. As far as the safety of lifting on a second floor.......your neighbor below you will HATE you believe me! LOL I worked out at 4:30 AM in my duplex and the lady next door WAS NOT LIKING IT! So unless you're able to never drop the weights, which I do at times, better not go there. You'll get evicted bro! Good luck. delts ------------------

I tried the home lifting thing about 14 years ago when I was still in HS, and it seemed that I would always put lifting off until the last minute, and then sometimes maybe, not lift at all. The reason, I guess, was that I knew that I didn't need to get off my ass to get to the gym, being that the weights were right downstairs & all. It made me lazy. Besides, I go to the gym for more than the lifting. I like being around people who have similar interests.

I remember when I was about twelve I had some weights. I would not use them much because I knew they were right there and I was lazy. Its much better atmosphere at a gym. Plus I think if you tried to deadlift or something like that it'd just go right through the floor.

That floor better be able to handle the weight or it would never take a water bed. I have a better than average home gym. Look up my pictures. Need to take new picture. I have since gotten a another squat rack. |
