Racism and ethnocentrism are two different things. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another, and should rule the inferior race.

Ethnocentrism is totally different - it basically signifies being comfortable around your own kind. You could call it ethnic pride.

One (off the cuff) example of this would be Americans rooting for Mark McGwire to hit more home runs than Sammy Sosa in 1998. Sosa is Dominican, and a lot of Americans wanted a white American to set the record in an American sport. Likewise, Dominicans rallied behind Sosa because they wanted "their guy" to set the standard.
That's ethnic pride, not racism.

I'm a white kid from the suburbs. That's where I'm comfortable. And I have spent enough time in NY city and Atlanta to understand city life.

So when I moved down south, things were different. I don't like country music, I don't drive a truck, etc...these are small examples but hopefully you get the idea....people generally stay in their element. (And I'm tired)

My prison post was all facts, what was I trying to prove?? well, those stats explained why some people think all black people are criminals. Because it proved that just being black, you increased your chances of going to prison by 14%.

Regarding Show and Flex(I'm sure you didn't shed any tears). I was a member on Shoe's board...... I only know the info I got from Flex and other members(people that are still on this board and the ones I know from Gold's). Watch your back and those people are very race conscious (i.e. prison statistics, ebonics, 93% black vote, etc., etc., etc,).
