I like them for some curls and chest movements. I find I push more with them. I figure more controlled weight = more gains.

I usually don't wear them, however if my hands are sweaty and if I feel things slip I'll put them on.

My gloves have wrist wraps on them and my wrists are in really crappy shape, so when I wear them, I actually can lift more. I'm sure others find the same.

I think if you wear gloves its hard to develop a really strong grip the same can be said about straps as well.

My calluses are my friends! He no I do not wear gloves, however I do use wrist wraps on some heavy bench and curls. I try on to use wrist wraps except on low pulls where I am just too damn strong for my forearms to hang on.

In comparison to alot of guys I'm a scrawny pus, so I need to be conscious of crap like this & I think the gloves look too dainty. Get some calaouses (sp) & people will think you work for a living ; ) And I think guys are supposed to have rough hands anyways.

straps/chalk for rows, deads, shrugs.

I used to wear gloves, but my hands sweat so much that my gloves would smell to high heaven after one week. I now use the versa grips. They work great for me.

Lifting gloves -- won't find them in my gym bag. I want to be able to feel the steel right in the palm of my hands. If anything, I feel as if I have less control of the bar when I am wearing gloves. Then again, if you want to maintain that baby soft skin, strap the gloves on.

NO, I don't wear gloves. Alot of the "pretty boy" types wear them. They don't want to have calluses. FUCK IT!!! Go hard or go home!!!!

I have always used leather work gloves. You get a stronger grip without the the calluses developing.

A hell of a lot cheaper than Harbinger and last longer.

When I'm with a woman I'd rather be caressing her with soft strong hands then fucked up rough hands. I worked out for a year without gloves. My hands got real hard and fucked up. It was terible, I mean, I would be embarassed to give a woman a massage because I didn't want to scratch her with my calluses. They also snag pantyhoose sweaters etc. SUCKS. So from now on I always wear my gloves. Now have baby soft hands that can still crush your fuckin neck if necessary.

Only dumb ass kids without GF's think wearing gloves is for panzies.

Ladies can you please comment on this. Any experiences with rough hands?

I occasionaly wear lifting straps, they definately help me lift more. i think the best thing to do is just chalk up and lift, nothing like that feeling you get from leaving chalk everywhere after a big lift. Every time i see bigger guys at the gym they're not wearing gloves either, at my gym the only one's wearing gloves are the 145lbs weaklings. My calouses are like a badge of honour, i know that they can be annoying at times but i earned them by working hard so who cares.

You guys make it sound as if gloves are for pussies. There are alot of pro bodybuilders who lift using gloves. First off, to answer the question.. yes and no. I normally don't wear gloves OR use wrist wraps. Whenever I do deadlifts I use wraps, and on my heavy sets I'll wear gloves. Im not a pussy, but I just hate for my blistered hands to crack open and start bleeding all over the iron.. for some reason the other members in my gym don't take too nicely to that.. wonder why? Im picking up the vibe that gloves are for "145lbs weaklings." Well, I'm a 235lb weakling and I wear them some.

I like to wear one silver sequined glove. Actually I hate gloves, they look stupid and I have calluses (sp?).
