Dude do you believe everything that everyone tells you? You must be a complete MORON if you for one second think that you are going to recieve a starting salary straight out of college of $500k with an MBA and EE degree. Do you truly believe in the bottom of your heart that you're going to get even close to that? If you do I feel sorry for you!! Tyler, I never said I was a god like authority in MBA and EE masters. I am a corporate recruiter for huge technology firm. Now if you wanna keep believing that you're going to get a $500,000 starting salary than keep believing it because it ain't happening. I know high level Java Developers that work for themselves and they don't even make that much. I'm not saying that you made that figure up! I just can't believe how stupid some people are sometimes. Don't get me wrong you will probably graduate and recieve a great salary but not the one you posted. Wake up and smell the coffee buddy!! | ||

Your welcome bro. I don't have to lie because our company has a great reputation. About the only thing I would lie about is maybe the travel because no one wants to travel 100%. Are these agency recruiters telling you this or corporate recruiters? In all honesty I have never seen a resume with EE and MBA on it but anyone out of school with no experience will have a difficult time finding a $100k job (unless they have excellent connections). | ||

how big is the demand for ee's or mba.and what about internationally how much do those guys get. the recruiters that told me that info were corporate recruiters that were seeking some students to work asap

Tyler, If you want it bad enough, you'll get there. All I would tell you is this: No one is going to offer you half a million until you have proven yourself - in other words - the education will set you up for success, but you'll have to demonstrate your ability on the job. Nothing wrong with aiming high - just know that to get there, you'll have to work damn hard and then be damn good when the time comes. | ||

Like I said in the post that vanished, I have that combo, and I have several friends who also have the EE/MBA combo. No doubt, it's a great education, especially if you are really going to the schools you indicated. They are all top notch, and their grads are highly recruited. None-the-less, as the recruiter guy mentioned, unless you graduate tops in your class, are willing to travel 100%, live in a very high cost of living area, or have had some kick ass previous work experience, you will be happy starting in the $100k - $120k range. Anyway, good luck, sounds we'll all probably be working for you some day. ------------------ | ||

Before my current job there was one particular recruiter who wanted me to work this job in the barrio.. so I apply and go to the interview, and clearly I was overqualified for this position.. the position was going to pay $50,000 a year to be network administrator for two server and 32 users.. There was the promise of more money after 3 months of proving and a sign on bonus if I accepted.. ok so I accept.. after 3 months.. no more money. 4 months.. no money.. I'm skeptical now. I hacked into the corporate server and found documents related to the closing of this plant in two months.. not only were they not going to give me a raise, but I was going to be out of a job in two months...complete waste of my time. I send a email to all my vatos as told them to start looking... and I quit the next day.. Within a week I got the Cisco gig without any recruiters interfering. | ||

Tyler, I work in the utilities industries, we got ee's w mba's crawlin through the walls. If I here one more argument about phase polarity and line distrubution flux from the Dilberts walkin around me, when all I want is to define a process, I'll shot them right in the pocket protector! |
