I know that this is going to sound REALLY wishy-washy and corny, but speaking as a mother, I have to say that the gifts I treasure most are the ones that were made for me. Now I realize that you are probably a little too old to be making popsicle stick houses or painted rock paper weights, but how about purchasing some really nice hand-made stationery and writing her a letter? Tell her about some wonderful childhood memory that brings a smile to your face, perhaps it was how soft her hair felt against your face as she hugged you to tell you how proud she was of you for getting your first 'A', or how much you loved it when she would read you a story, or maybe it was just the smell of her perfume that makes you remember how you thought she was the most beautiful woman on the planet when she got dressed up to go to a party with your dad (and how beautiful she still is). Just tell her how she helped shape your life and how much you realize and appreciate her hard work and sacrifice, etc. Too often we let the days pass without sharing these private thoughts w/those we love and cherish. I am willing to wager that she will keep your letter amongst her most prized possessions...probably one or two of those painted rock paperweights! ------------------ | ||

problem with that is...MB was a rotten kid, and he'd have to write a letter about his first "F"! no "A"s. if he wrote a letter to his mom about his childhood, she'd probably just cry. not a good x-mas gift!! | ||
