seriously, who here is a machine geek? who here goes to my power rack to do bicep curls whyle I need to deadlift? who squats with the smith machine? who's hard core anti machine chalk using antistrap calous handed and loves to rip apart their muscles. just wondering who is here at elite. ------------------ | ||

I used to use lots of machines. Now I use almost all barbells or dumbells. And lots of chalk. I usually get chalk on everything, even my hair. Only machines I use are leg press, calf raise and the t bar. Oh my God thats not very much. I'm hardcore....wow.....aalllllllrriiiiiiiggggghhhhhhhhttttttt | ||

I only use the calf raise machine. And I'm the only person in my gym who ass-to-floor squats. Does that make me hardcore? =) -Warik | ||

I hear you bundy. I remember using all the cybex machines for my routine. When I started using the plateloaded hammerstrengths I thought I was hardcore haha. When I first started I could only do the second plate on the bicep curl machine. Now I do the 6th for the same number of reps. | ||

WOW, You guys are hardcore, really impressive too, you only use barbells and dumbells, I will let you in on something, you need to incorporate all modalities whether it be dumbell , barbell, cables, machines, see all place a different resistance and tension on your muscle that your working stimulating different fibers letting one have a chance of developing a complete muscle with shape ,density, size and maturity, just because one uses a machine doesnt mean he or she is not hardcore, now if that person is only using machines and expects to look like a respectable bodybuilder should look then that is another thing. The initial question should be changed on this thread because it makes no sense because of the application that I have just laid, peace ------------------ | ||

bad shoulders? warm up the rotators with db then pyramid up. WHAT SHOULDER PROBLEM? dumb people load up too much weight on the bar and then skrew up their shoulders. bad back? the deadlifts only make it better. my ass to heel squats don't bother my back at all. to get big requires free weight you canadian panzy. ------------------ | ||

I curled 15lb dumbells for my bicep workout yesterday. It was a big accomplishment because I finally was able to move up from the chrome dumbells. | ||

Lately a lot of posts deal with who is or isn't hardcore or a panzy. What people don't understand is that it doesn't matter what exercises you do or if you use machines. I've trained differently all my life. I've tried many different programs and styles of conditioning. No matter which way you decide to workout and train you must have these three things: consistancy, intensity, dedication. I see big guys in the gym all the time acting like they are hardcore lifters with the straps, weight belts, chalk and every other contraption you can think of. But when i watch them workout they are using bad form taking 5 minutes for a break between sets, jaw jacking to the girls and walking around looking for attention. i'm not saying you are all like this...most of you i can tell are dedicated lifters. its just that don't judge someone. their goals may be different form yours and their circumstances my be different and prevent them from doing more advanced lifts. sorry for the long post..i had to vent. thanks |
