Aside from family and close friends, would you rather have people respect you or fear you? Personally, I have always perfered people to fear me first and foremost. So good friends and family aside, I dont care what people might think of me, so Id rather have them in perpetual fear that I may crush the life from their weak little bodies, as opposed to having them say "Y'know, he's a hell of a guy!" Whaddya think? Respect or Fear? ------------------     | ||

Respect definately. When people fear you, they never act true to you. They will decieve you all because they are afraid of the consquences. Also, they will form legions with other people because as an individual they will fear you, but as a group they will not. I don't like the thought of people ganging up on me. I'd rather have respect and not worry about all of that. | ||

Depends, but the 2 are almost one in the same. -When I'm playing hockey I want them to fear going 1-1 w/ me. I want them to be afraid of coming across the blue line. But I figure if they're afraid of that then they're showing me respect because they realize I can and will knock the shit out of them on personal demand. ------------------ | ||

i'd rather have respect cause no matter how tuff and bad u think u r, there is always someone close by who can kick your ass like there's no tomorow. anyone who wants people to fear them is just an ego maniac and easily delt with if need be. i know plenty off pure maniacs that are great people, who i respect not fear. there the one's if shit goes bad who u look too, not the guys who think there bad asses with something to prove. once your mind passes the development off an 18 year old boy, getting pissed everynight at the local club, with a bar tighty on and trying to pick fights with everyone looking at u, you'll see what i mean. just my 2cents. ------------------ | ||

Ah JohnnyO, once again you read my mind! The Prince is one of the finest works of literature ever! I read it when I was young, and have kept it near me ever since! My friend has it as required reading for his psychology class, its a very deep look into the minds of man, and even though it was written so long ago, its still as accurate as it was then. Did you ever read Machiavelli's The devil who took a bride? Its a classic! It really puts marriage into perspective ------------------ | ||

Roidog, you'd be surprised at what there is out there. We live what, 5 miles apart? I work for the real deal, not some sopranos wannabe's. As far as John Gotti, A very good friend of mine in the family (who also lives very close by) is cousins with him. You'd be surprised at who your neighbors may or may not be, or who some of the people on this board might possibly be. I'm sure 99% of them bullshit about who they are, but you just never know. Of course this is not a flame or insult, but just letting you know that you never know who's out there. | ||
