Hubby and I are broke so we only buy for the kiddies. I have 4 nephews (in-laws). We have a limit of 30$ p/kid but because I have four and they only have 2 kids each I usually spend closer to 60 p/kid....but if I find stuff on sale I don't feel the need to spend xtra to compensate. My nephews are spoiled beyond words and there is NOTHING that I could possibly buy to satiate their blood-lust. Actually I would prefer NOT to exchange gifts w/the in-laws as they never buy my girls what I ask for anyway....but, in-law bullshit, what's a girl to do? It used to irritate me that they would so blatantly disrepect me when I would ALWAYS get their kids EXACTLY what they asked for....ah, like so much water under the bridge. I put very little effort into shopping for their children and my children have everything they need...so it's nO BIGGIE.

As for my sis's children, I try to be as generous as I can afford. If I could afford to spend 100's I would. But my sis wouldn't allow it anyway. Neither one of us believes in spoiling our children surrounding them w/unnecessary material things.

My girls are so wonderful! (braggging a bit, hey, it's a mother's perrogetive ) If I could only afford to give them one present each they would be equally happy. They are so great. I often ask them what they would like for birthdays and christmas, etc and honestly they are usually hard pressed to come up w/stuff....and believe me, it is not because THEY ARE SURROUNDED BY JUNK.

OK, OK....I'll get off my soapbox.

But if I had the funds, I would get my hubby some new workout clothes, some casual outfits, maybe treat him to a wonderful night out...perhaps a day spa type thing where we could get side-by-side massages, etc. I always make sure my girls make him some wonderful "daddy-thing" though....you know, paint a t-shirt or something like that.

Of course I don't get a damned thing for anyone else though
