It was just confirmed this morning that my ex girlfriend is pregnant. She took an ept test on Friday and it came back + and took the 2nd one this morning and it came back + too. This sucks!! I've known this girl for over 3 years and we were together almost 2 and have dated on/off for the last 1 1/2 years. If there was any chance of us having a future I think we would know by now. What really sucks is telling the other girls I have been dating about this. So far I've told one and luckily she is being kinda cool about it. Man I'm not ready for this shit I just turned 21 and have a lot more stuff to do before I have a kid. I had everything going for me, 21 with a BMW I bought by myself, good computer job, good looking girls....now all that is probably gone. I make decent money but kids are expensive, there goes my car and my cycles for next year I guess. The worst part will probably be telling our parents. (She's almost 23 but we both still live at home) Her dad is gonna try to kill me. Has any of you ever been in a situations like this? Should we wait until after the holidays to tell our parents?     | ||

What do you feel for her? What are your plans? I think I would wait for her to get a blood test to make sure she was pregnant. Those test are pretty acurate but I would be sure before letting everyone know. expecialy if it will be a sore subject with the family. Hell when my wife got pregnant she took three home tests and then went to the doctor. Then we told everyone. And we were wanting one. ------------------ | ||

I don't think you should get an abortion. For what!? So you can have money and nice cars. I think that if you got her pregnant you should have to sacrifice part of your life for this child and not kill it because you want some nice cars and motorcycles. | ||

She is going to call the doctor this morning and try to get in today for a blood test.I've only told 2 other people and don't plan on telling anyone else until she gets the blood test. I think telling our parents will definatley have to wait until the holidays. I havent really considered abortion or adoption. As much as it sucks I am trying to accept it as my responsibility. I know this girl really well and am sure she hasnt slept with anyone else. I could possibly have a future with her as I know she loves me and would do anything for me but theres no way I'm ready for anything like that right now. I can't stand being with only one girl, I get tired of that real quick. I'm almost wondering if she did this on purpose to try to keep me. She seems to be taking the whole thing a little too well, like talking about names, its sex, etc. I dunno, I have so much on my mind right now. I'm on meds for high blood pressure and I know this isnt helping it. I planned a cycle for mid January. As long as I can keep my b.p. down I'm not gonna let this interfer with my cycle but I guess that should be the last thing on my mind.... And Havoc and Wodin I hope you guys havent cursed me. If she has anything more than 1 kid my ass is dip'in to Mexico. | ||

Well said Dude. you have a responsibility as a father to the child. However, you don't have to force a relationship with the girl if there is nothing there.(if that is what your worried about). It is always best if you can be happy together but I've seen to many people ruin their lives sticking together just because its the thing to do. Niether one of you is happy,and how healthy is it for the child to see the parents fight all the time becuase they hate each other. ------------------ | ||

First off, before you tell anyone else MAKE SURE that she is prego (confirmed by doctor) before you tell anyone else...Wait until you have come to grips with the situation before you tell your parents, you will never know how they will react until you tell them...even though this seems like the worst thing that couldve happened, YOU can make it a wonderful thing! It's all in how you handle it..you need to decide right now if your going to be a father or a DADDY???? You dont have to marry the girl to be a good daddy either..good luck to you and I'm sure it will all work out... | ||

thats tough, a buddy of mine didnt tell his family before he did national golden gloves and it got him killed in the ring, he thought the baby was the end to his life, but its 2 years later and he wouldnt trade his son for the world..he grew up real fast its a ton of responsibility...good luck | ||

Should we call you Pimp Daddy C? I may be young, but I can tell ya that you have to take the responsibility for the child. (S)he didn't ask to be born. Like luvs2workout said are you gonna be a father or a daddy. Any man can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad. My family puts the fun in dysfunctional. My aunt and uncle only got married b/c my aunt was pregnant w/ their son. They were on the verge of breaking up and BAM she finds out shes pregnant and they thought everything will be dandy. Well they stayed together, hated it, and 21 years later they finally got divorced. My older cousin's father bailed when he was very little. He hates him w/ a passion and can't wait till he turns 18 to file a suit against the motherfucker for not paying the child support or kick his ass; whatever hes in the mood for. The hard part of it is he can't understand why his father didn't want to be part of his life. The only good that came out of it is that he swears he would never do that to his kid one day because he knows the pain that comes with being abandoned. ------------------ | ||

Well I just got the call. They gave her a test at the doctors office and she is pregnant. Approximate due date is July 26. This is happening so fast I cant believe it, I don't think its really hit me yet. I wish I was ready to settle down and marry this girl but right now I'm not. I am however gonna be the best DAD that I can be. I know this will make me grow up and maybe when that happens I will be ready to settle down. She's pretty upset and is on her way home to tell her mom. I didn't want her too but she needs someone to talk to right now. I guess I'll have to tell my parents too. That is going to be rough as my parents are religious and will probably want me to marry her....they don't even want me living with a girl until I am married....They are going to be so dissapointed. This girl is probably telling her mom as I type this. She's going to call me afterwards. It seems like I have been sitting here for days. Its going to be hard for me to feel like I'm a good dad if the baby doesnt live with me, at the same time I don't know if I can live with the mother either. Sorry for the long posts guys its just I don't feel like telling anybody this yet but I have to tell somebody to get it off my chest. | ||

Thats a tough situation Pimp, I feel for you. If abortion is out of the question then you should start saving up your cash. At least you still have another 7 months. That will give you plenty of time to decide what you want. I bet by July you will be exited about being a dad and ready to raise a child. Your just going to have to grow up a lot from now to then. As far as telling your parents, shit I don't know how I would do it, but usually when its around X-mas everyone 100 times more peaceful and loving. I do it all by myself. A child is like a grindstone. You take a rock and put it to the grindstone, it will either take a shine to it or it will crumble. Depends on what the rock is made out of. You can crumble or you can shine. Let's see what you got in the inside. God will give you what you need. He gave me an education (though it took longer as I only attended part time), he gave me a great job I can work from home or from anywhere in the world, and if he gave me a millionaire girlfriend who is our backup if I ever stumble and fall. Well I guess we can congratulate you since now it has been confirmed...You sound like you have what it takes to be a great dad!! Stop being afraid of your parents..You are grown and you have to make your own decisions in life now..Dont let them pressure you to get married b/c you are the one who has to WANT to get married and If you dont want it then it will never last...I tried to please my parents for years after I moved out..I bought the house THEY liked, had a sports car that i liked but they thought I needed a bigger, family car soo I bought a family car that I hated..the list goes on..finally I realized that I had to live MY LIFE and if they didnt agree with my decisions, oh well...Mine was the RELIGIOUS type to..uuuggghhh!!! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has replied. Fantom,luv2workout,natymike,volf and everyone else thanks alot guys. I really needed to talk about this and I can't really talk about it to anyone at work yet. I still can't believe this is really happening. She told her mom and she is pretty upset and said her dad will probably kick her out of the house. If so I guess she'll have to move in with me, I'm sure my parents will understand under the circumstances. I wish I had my own place but its pretty hard when you have a lot of bills. I may consider taking a 2nd job but I hardly have any time now as it is. Oh well I have awhile to decide but I am going to start saving money now. Thanks again guys I can't wait to get to the gym tonite, I have so much stress to relieve and its chest day | ||

Bro..once you see your child..you will have emotions inside of you that you never knew existed....I'll never forget the first giggle I heard..or the first time my son said "Da Da"...It still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.. I remember one time before he could stand up he was in his playpen and he said "Da Da" and I looked and he had pulled himself up and was standing for the first time inside the playpen, holding on to the rail..As I walked up he let go and put his arms up for me to pick him up and BLOOP..he fell straight back in the playpen right on his diapered butt...My buddy..... :-) | ||

By the time my parents were in their mid-20s, they had 5 kids. My dad worked his ass off and my mom stayed home and took care of us. Money was tight sometimes but they always managed to give us everything we needed and a whole lot more. I'm sure overwhelmed, but I'm sure when push comes to shove, you're going to do the right thing. | ||

Thanks again everybody. We have both told our parents and its not as bad as we thought. My parents really like this girl so that helps out a bunch. I think we're just going to take it slow and hopefully we will end up together but if not oh well, we are going to be the best parents we can.
