I am asking all of you "vets" on this board what it takes to get respect on here? I have been watching this board for a while and it seems the only way you get any respect is by having thousands of post. This is not a flame, but just because you have the time to post on here for hours a day doesn't really mean you know your shit. I have much respect for those educated individuals on here who do really know there stuff, but there seems to be alot of followers on here who just like to rip "newbies" because they feel its like some freshman in high school type of thing. I am curious to see everyones HONEST response to this and hopefully the mod's will copy this to other forums.

I don't post that much on the Anabolic board anymore, but when I was back in the spring and summer, I gained more respect by helping out newbies rather than flaming them. Basically, if you know a good deal about the subject of bodybuilding and Anabolics, you can tell whether or not someone knows what their talking about by reading their posts. Post counts don't really mean a whole lot, however, people who do have a lot of posts on the Anabolic board usually have read a lot and have done some research and in most circumstances have a good idea what they are talking about. I've seen people with 30 posts who have given some great info and ideas. A lot of this is subjective, so whenever I'd ask a question on there, I'd be happy with anyone who had experience and was willing to contribute to your quest for more knowledge.

The most respected are generally the most knoweldgeable. This board is a little different, but on the anabolic and other boards, that is the rule.

Thank you both for your responses, that is how I feel you should be respected, by what you know and not how many post. However, I do think there are still some ignorant people out there who bias you based on your post count. Well, nevertheless, thank you for your honest answers, much respect.

People don't look at the number by your handle and immediately respect you.

although using deductive reasoning, those with lots of posts have been on the board a long time. Thus, have made friends... and also "enemies" on the board.

Usually if someone flames someone else it is usually #1 deserved, or #2 the flamer just felt like being a dickhead that particular day. or #3 some immature person is trying to "have fun"
