Starting 1/1/01 they will no longer issue one month memberships. All memberships are for one year. You can pay on a contract where it is deducted from your checking account or pay all at once. This sucks, i'm 16 and don't have a checking account. Can't come up with it all at once either. Should I change gyms? Yep, I think so.

I would change to another, if and only if in your area would not do the same kind of shit to a 16 year old who will no doubt be doing this the rest of his life, one way or another this arguement might get there attention. If not, get your own equipment.

I know in my area they all do the same shit, but hey I figure if I don't workout at 44
I will pay the in the long run.

Frankly, I am paying the pentatly already for being a couch potato.

I was such a skinny guy before at 100 lbs when I started, so I have worked hard to get
20 lbs. As such I am not going to quit working out as I deserve the increase in wait and strength. But I can really work out hard and lift way more than I weigh.

Keep on lifting. I hope you find a gym that will accomodate your situtation.

Garza -

Talk to the manager at the gym ... see if they'll make a special accomodation for you. If its big chain, they may not have any discretion. If that's the case, go to the bank and open a checking account. You probably need to have $100 to open it up. Borrow the cash from your folks and then write them a check for it. Then, make sure you've got enough money in the account to pay your dues each month.

I might be over simplifying a solution, but if you like the gym you're at and you're a good customer, they don't want to lose your business. I'm sure there's a solution.

Good luck.

Yeah I would go and talk to the Manager at the club. If they want do it, talk to your parents and tell them the situation.
Ask them to help you open up an account.
But, make sure you pay them back and make sure you have enough money in the account!
Just like May said!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't like the club, and have one close to you; then change.

I have my own equipment!!
I Love It!!!

I gotta buddy that works there. Tonite I asked him about it, he said he'd leave a note to the owner. The co-owner works on fridays and saturdays, he's always nice to me, I could probably talk to him and get something arranged. Talked to mom about it she said she'd be willing to have it deducted out of her checking. The only reason i'm putting up with this shit is because the place is open 24hrs a day which might come in handy since I'm getting a new job and don't know yet what my hours will be. I might check into a gym downtown.....its known for being hardcore. All the guys who go there are big, i'll be intimidated of course lol...but it may be a better atmosphere.

Ha, that sounds like a good idea. But the gym practically takes care of its self. The employees don't do jack shit. They are supposed to unload the weights at night from the machines but they never do. Tonite I saw, for the second week in a row, a bandaid laying on top of the leg press sled lol. They never clean the lockers, all they do is change the toilet paper. Maybe I could come in and unload the weights or something.

If you go to a Credit Union instead of a bank, you usually only need $5 to open the account, and no minimum balance. Itd be easier to just keep the money you need in there that way.
Oh, and ignore Special Bill. Your dog is NOT telling you to kill ANYONE! He's telling you to stop touching him in his "private place", or he'll go tell an adult...
